How To Spray A Wooden Fence
When it comes to exterior projects, a spray gun might just be the perfect tool. Prime and paint your fence, garage door or house with ease and spend more time admiring your amazing, finished project. Here’s how we sprayed a wooden fence and how you can do it too:
Step 1:
Mask any surfaces you don’t want to be painted with masking tape, masking film and cardboard. Account for a large overspray area, particularly on windy days.
Step 2:
Spray 1x coat of Dulux 1Step Prep Primer. Keep the spray gun perpendicular to the surface and roughly 30cm away from the fence. Use a steady, fast motion and overlap your last pass by approximately 50%.
Step 3:
Once the primer is dry, spray 2x coats of your topcoat. We used Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen in Domino. Don’t go too heavy on the first coat. It is best to build up the colour in light layers to avoid dripping.
