Can you paint in winter?
This is a common question we are often asked, as is the desire to paint the interior of your home during the winter months. While the short answer is yes, you need to be aware of the temperature. Cooler weather slows down the drying time of your paint but as a rule of thumb, if the temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius, pick up a brush and get painting!
Most Aussies have a form of heating in their house, this brings up the temp and assists with the paint’s ability to dry. It speeds it up! Who doesn’t love that?! And, in some parts of the country, winter is the perfect time to paint given humidity levels are lower.
Here’s our top tips for painting in winter:
- Paint in the warmest part of the day.
- Never paint in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
