Hallway Makeover With Porter’s Paints

We love ALL paint projects, but especially those that don't require ladders. This VJ panel half wall hallway makeover will leave you feeling like you've achieved great things and bonus points, it's easy on the knees! Read on to learn how we used Porter’s Paints to add depth and style to this space:

What you need:

  • Selleys Spakfilla Rapid
  • Timbermate Wood Filler
  • Dulux 1Step Prep
  • 120 Grit Sandpaper
  • 240 Grit Sandpaper
  • Porter's Paint Eggshell in chosen colour (we used French Green)
  • Cabot's Cabothane Clear
  • Brushes Rollers

How you do it:

Step 1:

Fill any holes in the VJ panels with Selleys Spakfilla Rapid. Then, using Timbermate Wood Filler, fill any holes in the timber trim. Once dry, lightly sand all patched holes with 120 grit sandaper until smooth.

Step 2:

Apply 1x coat of Dulux 1Step Prep to the VJ panels, cutting in with a brush before rolling. Allow to dry fully.

Step 3:

Apply 2x coats of Porter’s Paints Eggshell Finish your chosen topcoat colour. Cutt in with a brush before rolling. Allow 2 hours drying time between coats.

Step 4:

Apply 3x coats of Cabot’s Cabothane Clear to the timber trim. Allow 2 hours drying time before lightly sanding with 240 grit sandpaper between each coat.
