How To Upcycle A Dollhouse
This is your sign to never overlook the relics you find at an op shop! We have been obsessed with dollhouses turned bookshelves popping up all over our social media so when this preloved dollhouse caught our eye at the local op shop, you can bet we snatched it up.
Here’s how you can transform an old wooden dollhouse into a colourful bookshelf, perfect for a kid’s bedroom.
What you need:
How you do it:
Step 1:
Remove all the old stickers and tape on the dollhouse with a paint scraper.
Step 2:
Sand down the timber with 120 grit sandpaper. Once finished, clean away all the dust.
Step 3:
Apply 1 coat of Zinsser’s Cover-Stain Oil-Base Primer to the dollhouse and allow it to dry fully.
Step 4:
Apply 2 coats of Porter’s Paints Revive Furniture Paint in your chosen colour to the dollhouse. We used Half Ballet Slipper.
