How To Transform An IKEA Stool With Paint
We love flatpack furniture. It’s cheap, easy to assemble, but most importantly, so customisable. And with the beautifully rich Porters Paints Revive Furniture Paint range, creating a unique statement piece is easier than ever. Here’s how we transformed an IKEA step stool into a bespoke piece of furniture that fits seamlessly into a coastal home.
Step 1:
We began by sanding the timber stool. We then removed the dust and masked around the steps with masking tape.
Step 2:
Next, we applied 1 coat of Intergrain Universal Timber Oil in Honey Gold to the steps. We allowed it to dry fully before moving to the next step.
Step 3:
After removing the tape, we then applied 1 coat of Dulux 1StepPrep primer to the remaining surfaces of the stool, allowing it to dry fully.
Step 4:
Once dry, we applied 2 coats of Porters Paints Revive Furniture Paint in Half Olive Grove, allowing 2 hours drying time between coats.
