If not, the relaxation will be zeroed out by the mental load of another thing to do around your home. We get it, life is busy, and you might not have had the time to clean and maintain your deck. That’s where the Cabot’s EasyDeckTM clean and coat maintenance system comes in. It’s basically like shoe polish for your deck with minimal effort for maximum impact. What’s more, your deck is ready for use in just 40 minutes. Here’s how you use the Cabot’s EasyDeckTM system.

Step 1: Assess your deck.
First things first, you’ll need to check the condition of your deck. Here are 4 signs your deck needs a recoat. EasyDeck™ is designed for application over existing water-based coatings that are in good condition. We emphasise good here, the EasyDeck has great results to maintain and clean a good healthy deck. If it’s been 18 months or more since you last coated your deck, you’ll need to give it a fresh coat. You can learn how to do that here.
Once recoated, you’ll need to allow at least 30 days before using EasyDeck™.
Step 2: Remove debris and spot clean.
Next, brush or blow your deck to remove any debris such as leaves, twigs, or dirt. Bigger stains such as bird poo and grease should be spot cleaned with Intergrain Ultraclean Timber Cleaner. Don’t worry about removing all the dirt and dust. The EasyDeck™ applicator pad included with your EasyDeck™ Applicator, will take care of this.
For optimal results, hose down the deck and remove any excess water and let it dry completely.
Step 3: Assemble the EasyDeck™ Applicator.
Once your surface is ready for coating, take the included applicator pad and slide it over the semi-detachable applicator base. Close the latch to lock the base back in place. Insert the pole into the applicator body and twist the collar clockwise until the pole is securely attached.
Now take your EasyDeck™ Maintenance Coat bottle and shake for 1 minute with the bottle cap attached. Replace the bottle cap with the dispensing nozzle cap and screw on tightly. Place the bottle inside the applicator and press down firmly.
Step 4: Coat your deck.
Once the EasyDeck™ Applicator is ready for use, place it on your deck and squeeze the handle 5 to 6 times until the liquid is dripping through the pad, onto your deck. Confirm this by lifting the applicator. To ensure the applicator pad is saturated enough, begin by moving it over a small area of decking. Once it leaves a light, even coating on your deck, stop squeezing the handle. If you have squeezed too much, spread the excess coating across a slightly larger area of your deck.
Apply along the length of the board, squeezing the applicator handle as needed. Your Cabot’s EasyDeck™ applicator should glide along the surface of your deck. If you begin to notice foam is formed on top and around the applicator pad, don’t be alarmed. This is normal and will not impact the finish.
Expert Tip – Got some hard-to-reach places? Pour a little EasyDeck™ Maintenance Coat on your applicator pad and apply by hand.
Once your entire deck is coated, allow 40 minutes dying time before heavy traffic returns to the deck. Wait at least 40 days before reapplying Cabot’s EasyDeck™.
Step 5: Clean your EasyDeck™ system.
Now that your deck refreshed, remove the bottle from the applicator and replace the dispensing nozzle cap with the bottle cap. Rinse the dispensing nozzle cap until the valve is clean and the water runs completely clear. Remove the applicator pad and leave to soak, then rinse under running water until the water runs clear. Wash the applicator with clean water while flushing and pumping the yellow cleaning levers until the water coming out of the applicator head runs clear. Let components dry thoroughly before storing them in a covered area.
