About the product
Affordable & Practical
Dulux Metalshield Multipurpose spray paint is the perfect solution when you need some little touch-ups here and there and have no intention of buying or replacing anything around the house. You get a high-level finish at an affordable price.
Classic Colorbond Dune
Everyone’s favourite - the stylish and elegant Dune by Colorbond. Although probably it needs no introduction, for those who wonder – it was inspired by a dusty, pale grey of sand dunes in Australia. That’s why it’s extremely easy to coordinate with other natural hues and elements.
FAQ
How long does it take for the spray paint to dry?
Thanks to a special Dulux formula, it only takes around 30 minutes for the paint to be completely dry. And if for whatever reason you feel like the surface could use another coat, give it about 2 hours to reapply it.
What are the optimal conditions for storing?
This Dulux product should be tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated space. It’s also important to remember it needs to be protected from sunlight exposure – especially to temperatures exceeding 50°C.
What surfaces can I use it for?
Any metal surfaces around the house – from gates and railings to gutters and fences. It’s suitable for both touch-up and maintenance jobs, providing a lasting effect with its strong adhesion and durability.
Does it protect metal from corrosion?
Yes, thanks to its special formula, Dulux Multipurpose Metalshield provides protection against both – tarnishing and corrosion.
How do I use it?
Make sure you shake the can three minutes before use, and make sure you also shake it every now and then when you’re actually using it. Then hold it upright about 15 to 25 cm from the surface. You can also test it beforehand on some other, ideally disposable or unimportant, surface to make sure the consistency is right. Spray it across the surface with even and smooth strokes. It’s better to apply a few light mist coats than a single heavy one.
What’s the optimal temperature for application?
The ambient temperature shouldn’t be lower than 10°C and higher than 30°C – otherwise gloss, adhesion as well as the colour itself may be affected.
How can I clean the valve?
To prevent blocking, it’s best to turn the can upside down and spray until only clear gas is coming out. Then you can wipe the nozzle clean. It’s generally recommended to remove any remaining paint from the nozzle while it’s still wet, otherwise, it may be hard to clean it later.
